This is a recent photo taken on one of my walks around Fitzroy and it certainly is a contrast to the Fitzroy I grew up in during the 1950s and 1960s.
I don’t remember any outdoor cafe tables and seats along Brunswick Street, Fitzroy back in the old days. Just dull grey asphalt footpaths.
It’s probably good we didn’t have those modern red chairs and tables back then because some light-fingered ratbag would have nicked them – eventually. 🙂
