A Bit of Fun

i couldn’t resist creating this quote. Not that I’m biased. 🙂

Roy Boy started as a memoir in 2011 – a way of capturing working-class Fitzroy in the 1950s and ’60s before those memories faded. It took over a decade to get the stories right and the book finally published.

Long dismissed as a slum, and years before gentrification changed its streets, Fitzroy was home – and the book led to several speaking engagements where the stories came alive in the room alongside other people’s own memories of old Fitzroy.

Now the walking tour takes you there. Real streets, real laneways, real buildings – the memoir, on foot.
