I put in a huge effort last Sunday to finish my memoir draft and email it to my copy editor.
The deadline was the following day and I worked fourteen hours, finishing the job twelve minutes before midnight.
She is now working on the draft and will email it back with corrections in two to three weeks time. Judging by the sample copy she did before I hired her, the end result will definitely be worthwhile..
Next Monday I’m meeting with my cover design and layout professional for some preliminary discussions.
My schedule for publishing my memoir is;
1- Work on the copy editors suggestions in January
2- Meet with my cover designer and layout person again late January for final instructions and decisions
3- Publish the memoir – probably around March
4- Become a best selling author and rich – I wish.
It’s exciting that after eleven years of working on my memoir it’s almost done.
I did say never again but I should have reallised that one should ‘never say never’. I’m about to start my next memoir and it too begins in Fitzroy – just after where my first memoir ends. The theme is on basketball and my life surrounding that sport.
Looks like I’m doomed to be a writer. 🙂
